1 Peter 5:6
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
Being humble was never something I grew up knowing. Even though I was mostly able to be humble I didn’t know what being humble meant. When we humble ourselves before God, we open up our lives to the promises, blessings and grace that he so eagerly waits to flood our lives with.
1 Peter 5:7
7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
Being human myself with flaws left and right, I know there are times of anxiety and fear. We have a God that waits for us to cast all of our anxieties on Him. Who better than God, the creator of all things, to bring our problems to?
1 Peter 5:8
8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
Once we have humbled ourselves, cast our troubles on God, we can be alert.
Why do we need to be alert?
No matter what side of the bed you wake up on, what household you’re in, the color of your skin, your achievements, political views or mentality; everyday we are in a spiritual battle where the bad tries to keep us away from the word and promises of God. We cannot be alert and of sober mind if we aren’t humble before God and if troubles and anxieties are occupying our minds.
God bless each and every one of us this day!
